Queen’s Ball & Mental Health Campaign 2024
The inaugural Queen’s Ball held under the theme “Shine a Light: Illuminating Mental Health” put mental health at the centre of public conversation in Uganda. The campaign launched by Her Royal Highness Nnaabagereka Sylvia Nagginda Luswata set out to break stigma, broaden access to support, and kindle a culture of care for women, youth and children affected by mental health challenges.

The Queen’s Ball took place on 9 May 2024 at the Kampala Serena Hotel, where dignitaries, health professionals, corporate leaders, Government officials and Kingdom representatives gathered to stand in solidarity with those living with mental health conditions.
Queen Sylvia framed the evening as both a celebration and a call to action encouraging communities to listen, to learn, and to support accessible care. The event combined cultural pride, thoughtful conversation and fundraising in service of long-term mental health advocacy across communities.
