NNWF Scholarship Award:
Mental Health Essay Competition
The NNWF Essay Competition is an annual initiative that uplifts the voices of young people across Uganda, giving them a platform to reflect on the issues shaping their wellbeing, communities, and futures.
Each year, learners from primary to university level share essays rooted in lived experience, thoughtful inquiry, and sincere expression, offering insight into the realities faced by their generation.
Their words reflect the core of NNWF’s mission: fostering awareness, empathy, and collective responsibility. Through storytelling and reflection, these young writers help spark dialogue, strengthen understanding, and inspire action in support of a healthier, more resilient society.
We invite you to explore the perspectives and creativity of Uganda’s next generation of leaders and advocates!

2025/6
The 2025 Mental Health Essay Competition is inspired by the ongoing Healing Minds 5000 Campaign, launched at the Queen’s Ball 2025. This year’s competition builds on the voices, stories, and experiences shared by students across Uganda gathered during our National Secondary School Tour. The aim is to continue empowering young people to speak openly about mental health, reduce stigma in their communities, and contribute to a culture of understanding and healing.
